Catedral Metropolitana Guatemala City

It was built between 1782 and 1815 and houses many art treasures were originally in the cathedral of Antigua Guatemala.

The Catedral Metropolitana in Guatemala City has suffered the ravages of three earthquakes, 1830, 1917 and 1976.

It is worth noting that the altars are on both sides of the aisle, which still retain many of the images of saints, relics of the churches of Antigua Guatemala where moved to this cathedral in Guatemala City.

Right to the side of this cathedral you can find the Archbishop’s Palace.
